Guidelines for our Board of Directors / Trustees
Mayil Charity Trust board members are selected based on their commitment to the mission as well as their individual expertise in relation to the needs of the organization and the composition of the Board as a whole. It is essential to identify and nominate board members with the leadership and experiential abilities to perform their duties as board members. Additionally, to be effective, board members must have a clear understanding of the expectations and level of commitment required of membership, and be capable of meeting those requirements.

Our Approach
Our Mission
We have been organized to identify and provide care, assistance, support and related services to underprivileged Indian citizens in the Tamil Nadu and other states of India. Funded entirely by grants, Mayil Charity Trust provides opportunities for Indians to regain a footing in society.
Mayil Charity Trust (MCT) is an humanitarian organization that believes in supporting Indian citizens. We are passionate about giving back to the community and helping those who are capable, but less fortunate. Support is provided to individuals in need primarily through financial assistance for basic necessities like food, water, clothing, shelter, and basic health care.
BOARD MEMBER EXPECTATIONS
Commitment of time to
- Attend and participate in board meetings
- Participate in board email discussions
- Elect new board
- Take on specific projects as needed
- Advise members and executive committee
- Guide and grow organization, including finding new volunteers
- Publicize and identify fundraising opportunities for MCT
- Accept special assignments or leadership positions
- Stay informed on issues and read materials.
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
- Understand the authority, duties, and responsibilities of the Board as outlined in the Articles of Incorporation and the Bylaws.
- Hold others and yourself accountable for the mission, financial viability and effectiveness of the organization.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and other unethical behaviour.
- Support board decisions.
- Treat board matters confidentially.
Rules & Regulations
- The Officers and the members of Mayil Charity Trust are working on voluntary basis and no payment is given to them, membership of the trust is Non-transferable and once the payment is made, it is not refundable.
- Any kind of misbehaviour or misconduct may result in rejection of membership from Mayil Charity Trust. The Virudhunagar District Court in India only handle all disputes subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
- Mayil Charity Trust will not be responsible for any misuse of Identity Card issued for the members during the course of their membership.
- On expiry, the Identity card must be submitted to the Office. After expiry, renewal is a must for regular membership.
- In case any change of address, members should inform the same to the Office.
- Those who wish to take up the membership have to pay the membership fee of ₹1000/- (Rupees One thousand only)
- Members is liable to pay monthly subscription of ₹100/- (Rupees One hundred only). If it is defaulted for three months, membership will be naturally terminated.
- In case of loss of the Identity Card, inform the Office in writing, if possible along with the F. I. R. immediately.
- Strict action will be taken against the member, if found guilty floating, the rules and regulations of Mayil Charity Trust and are punishable under the Law of Indian Govt. Authority.
